Used on a large scale in Afghanistan as standard equipment by members of the Italian mission "Kite", is part of an experimental project of renewal of individual equipment undertaken by the Alpine Troops.
During the preparation of this important mission, the Alpine Troops Command has coordinated a team of companies in the construction of a complete and individual equipment experimental renewed.
Extrema Ratio is the company that the Alpine Troops Command has selected and contacted for the development of a multi-role suited to line infantry, a knife that could be used at all latitudes and that did what it successfully to every kind of problem that the equipment more specialized they could not solve. The Fulcrum S is the shorter version of the Fulcrum, same characteristics but less mass in the work field. The success was such that the multi-role has given the development of the Fulcrum Bayonet, with the same features but inastabile on the rifle.
The Fulcrum is an extremely robust and versatile knife, the blade holds loads at break greater than 150Kg, the tip is robust and the profile "so" allows you to work with a long knife without affecting the sharpness of the last section, which guarantees together sharpening partial dorsal (the civilian version is not sharp on the back) to maintain the penetration necessary to combat against targets covered by heavy clothing, accoutrements and soft ballistic protection.
The center of gravity forward and the weight of the blade make it suitable for heavy field work.
The new automatic hard sheath, allows the comfortable transportation in safety and the lace that surrounds the top of the grip drastically reduces the entanglement, even in case of launch parachuted.
The rapidity and ease of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the Fulcrum combine to make an excellent choice for use on a large scale even from the economic point of view / administration.
